Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Sipaya, Gopalganj was established on 26th March, 2006 by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and is functioning under the administrative control of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa, Samastipur. It is situated at a latitude of 26.576984° N and a longitude of 84.376285° E. KVK Gopalganj has a total 50.00 acres of land. It works across all 14 blocks of Gopalganj district. KVK Gopalganj serves as an important centre for transfer of agricultural technologies, capacity building, vocational training, and scientific advisory services for farmers, rural youth and farm women across the district. All technology transfer programmes of the centre are conducted on the principles of “Learning by Doing” and “Seeing is Believing” with special emphasis on imparting the actual skills involved in the technologies.

Activities of KVK

On-farm testing to assess the location specificity of agricultural technologies under various farming systems.

Organize Frontline Demonstrations to establish production potential of technologies on the farmers’ fields.

Capacity development of farmers and extension personnel to update their knowledge and skills on modern agricultural technologies.

To work as knowledge and resource centre of agricultural technologies for supporting initiatives of public, private and voluntary sector in improving the agricultural economy of the district.

Provide farm advisories using ICT and other media means on varied subjects of interest of farmers.

Agriculture remains the backbone of our rural economy and the prosperity of farmers is essential for sustainable development. Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Gopalganj is committed to empowering farmers through scientific knowledge, skill development, innovative technologies, and need-based advisory services. Our primary objective is to bridge the gap between research institutions and farming communities by promoting location-specific technologies, climate-resilient agriculture, integrated farming systems, natural farming and improved crop management practices. We continuously work towards enhancing productivity, profitability, and sustainability in agriculture and allied sectors. KVK Gopalganj actively organizes training programmes, frontline demonstrations, on-farm trials, awareness campaigns, and extension activities for farmers, rural youth, and for the upliftment of the farm women. Special emphasis is given to natural farming, entrepreneurship development, integrated pest management, soil health management, balance use of fertilizers and value addition to agricultural produce.
